JB Flowers offers a number of Educational workshops throughout primary schools in the North East of England. Working for the past ten years with teachers to tailor each workshop to suit their individual lesson plan and to link in with the national curriculum topics be it history, literacy, art or specific themes such as anti bullying.
A traditional workshop begins covering the history of the puppet show ranging back over 2000 years, followed by a live performance of the traditional show itself. The students then have the opportunity to view the puppets up close and experience a hands on construction session in which they will design and learn how to create their own carved puppet.
